Telenor Pakistan CEO to lead Telenor Group’s Emerging Asia Cluster

NEW DELHI: Telenor Group today announced that effective 1 April, 2019, Irfan Khan, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, will assume additional leadership role as Telenor Group Executive Vice President and Cluster Head for Emerging Asia, joining Telenor Group’s Executive Management Team.

“Irfan Khan is a valued leader within Telenor Group and has an accomplished history at Telenor Pakistan. I am pleased that he will take lead over our important growth markets in the Emerging Asia Cluster, in addition to retaining his role as Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Pakistan,” says Sigve Brekke, President and CEO of Telenor Group.

“I am confident that Irfan will continue to lead our dedicated and talented teams to success, connecting the cluster’s more than 130 million customers with services that matter to them and creating value for our shareholders. I’d like to also thank Irfan’s predecessor in this role, Petter-Børre Furberg, for his leadership and achievements across our Asia region over the last several years,” he added.

In becoming Head of Telenor Group’s Emerging Asia Cluster, Irfan Khan will join Telenor Group’s Executive Management Team and will report directly to Telenor Group President and CEO, Sigve Brekke. Petter-Børre Furberg will become CEO of Telenor Norway and step out of Telenor Group’s Executive Management.

Irfan Wahab Khan was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Pakistan on 1 August 2016. He had served in the position of Deputy CEO and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Telenor Pakistan since April 2013.

He has been with Telenor for 14 years and was the first employee in Telenor Pakistan when he started as Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Affairs Division in 2004.

Since then he has served in various positions within Telenor Group both in Asia and Europe, including Vice President Devices and Vice President – Head of Asia Distribution. Mr. Khan is also a Board Member of Telenor Microfinance Bank.

Asus India hires Tribhuwan Joshi

NEW DELHI: Taiwanese tech giant – ASUS, today, announced the appointment of Tribhuwan Joshi as Lead – Corporate Communications, PR and CSR, Consumer and ROG PC Business, ASUS India. He will oversee communications and brand reputation practice for ASUS’ consumer, lifestyle, and gaming device segments in the Indian market.

Commenting on the appointment, Paramjeet Singh Mehta, Marketing Head Consumer PC & Gaming, Systems Group at Asus India, said “As we continue to invest in talent, we are focused on identifying and providing opportunities to people where they can have the greatest impact on our business. Tribhuwan will be driving Integrated Communications Strategy, Reputation Management, Brand Communications CSR Initiatives, Influencer & KOL Management for corporate & consumer campaigns, and drive market-specific campaigns for ASUS India. He has over 15 years of cross-functional experience across corporate and agencies. He has looked after communications strategy for some renowned organizations including Fujifilm India, HTC India, Panasonic India, Anchor by Panasonic, MSL Group India, and Team Orange PR.

Infosys says Ravi Kumar S resigns

NEW DELHI: IT services major Infosys on Tuesday said its president Ravi Kumar S has resigned from his post. The company did not give any reason for the move which comes just days ahead of its second quarter earnings announcement.

“The board of directors placed on record their deep sense of appreciation for the services rendered by Ravi Kumar S. for his contributions to the company,” Infosys said in a regulatory filing.

In his role as president, Ravi Kumar S led the Infosys Global Services Organisation across all industry segments.

He led the services lines and specialised digital sales across consulting, technology, infrastructure, engineering and process verticals.

Starting his career as a nuclear scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center, he joined Infosys in 2002 and was appointed as its president in 2016.

In 2017, he was named as the Deputy COO and was widely tipped to be the company’s COO, but Infosys later did away with the post of the COO after the retirement of incumbent UB Pravin Rao.

According to the 2021-22 annual report of Infosys, Kumar was the third highest-paid senior executive of the company after CEO Salil Parekh and former COO UB Pravin Rao.

Shares of Infosys, which is to announce its second-quarter earnings on October 13, ended 2.65 per cent lower at Rs 1,423.90 apiece on the BSE.

The company board at its meeting on October 13 will also to consider a share buyback.

Vishak Raman to head Fortinet’s Business in India, SAARC and Southeast Asia

Vishak Raman brings with him over two decades of experience in the cybersecurity space with proven expertise in product management, sales, marketing and business development. Prior to Fortinet, he was Director of Security Business, India & SAARC at Cisco. Vishak who holds an engineering degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from IIM Ahmedabad, has also worked in various roles at FireEye, Tata Communications, WatchGuard, Sify and HCl Technologies.
