Zappfresh hires Vinod Sawhny as Senior Advisor

NEW DELHI: Zappfresh, the high-quality fresh meat retail & delivery brand run by Gurugram-based DSM Fresh Foods Pvt. Ltd which has recently raised funding of Rs 20 crore from Amit Burman, Vice Chairman, Dabur India and Sajit Kumar, Sr. V.P. SIDBI Venture Capital today announced the appointment of Vinod Sawhny as Senior Advisor to the firm.

Sawnhy comes with decades of experience in the retail industry last holding the position of CEO of Reliance Communications Ltd. He also held key C-level positions prior to that with Bharti Airtel, Spice Telecom and Godrej GE as well as Ex President , Bharti Retail.

Speaking on the occasion of his appointment as Senior Advisor at Zappfresh Sawhny said, “I have a deep sense of belief in what the team at Zappfresh is trying to do in a way of changing how consumers look at meat products. In an era of questionable sourcing, anti-biotic ridden meat products consumed over time is proving to be a real health hazard. Zappfresh has a very strong foundation here which I am confident will go a long way in offering farm to fork, fresh and hygienic meat products. The company is at a very critical growth stage with the recent funding received from Burman and SIDBI Venture Capital, I hope my experience in retail business growth and development will help scale up the brand keeping pace with its immense potential.”

Asus India hires Tribhuwan Joshi

NEW DELHI: Taiwanese tech giant – ASUS, today, announced the appointment of Tribhuwan Joshi as Lead – Corporate Communications, PR and CSR, Consumer and ROG PC Business, ASUS India. He will oversee communications and brand reputation practice for ASUS’ consumer, lifestyle, and gaming device segments in the Indian market.

Infosys says Ravi Kumar S resigns

NEW DELHI: IT services major Infosys on Tuesday said its president Ravi Kumar S has resigned from his post. The company did not give any reason for the move which comes just days ahead of its second quarter earnings announcement.

“The board of directors placed on record their deep sense of appreciation for the services rendered by Ravi Kumar S. for his contributions to the company,” Infosys said in a regulatory filing.

In his role as president, Ravi Kumar S led the Infosys Global Services Organisation across all industry segments.

He led the services lines and specialised digital sales across consulting, technology, infrastructure, engineering and process verticals.

Starting his career as a nuclear scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center, he joined Infosys in 2002 and was appointed as its president in 2016.

In 2017, he was named as the Deputy COO and was widely tipped to be the company’s COO, but Infosys later did away with the post of the COO after the retirement of incumbent UB Pravin Rao.

According to the 2021-22 annual report of Infosys, Kumar was the third highest-paid senior executive of the company after CEO Salil Parekh and former COO UB Pravin Rao.

Shares of Infosys, which is to announce its second-quarter earnings on October 13, ended 2.65 per cent lower at Rs 1,423.90 apiece on the BSE.

The company board at its meeting on October 13 will also to consider a share buyback.

Vishak Raman to head Fortinet’s Business in India, SAARC and Southeast Asia

Vishak Raman brings with him over two decades of experience in the cybersecurity space with proven expertise in product management, sales, marketing and business development. Earlier as the Senior Regional Director, India & SAARC at Fortinet, he was instrumental in establishing and growing Fortinet’s technology leadership and success story in India. He also set up a first-of-its-kind Technical Assistance Center at Bangalore which has over 200 engineers who provide 24/7 support to Fortinet’s customers in India and the Middle East.

Prior to Fortinet, he was Director of Security Business, India & SAARC at Cisco. Vishak who holds an engineering degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from IIM Ahmedabad, has also worked in various roles at FireEye, Tata Communications, WatchGuard, Sify and HCl Technologies.
